Banner advertising has proven to be an effective local online advertising method for businesses. It allows you to get your message across without subjecting viewers to pages and pages of content. Creating a banner ad, however, is not as easy as it may seem. There are a few things you’ll want to ask yourself prior to purchasing and designing your ad.
The first thing you want to be clear on is how much money you are willing to spend. Banner ads can vary in price greatly depending on what you put into the ad and how large it is. If you are just looking to generate more traffic but do not have much money to spend, you may want to think about a smaller ad.
Part of determining the price will be deciding how large you want your ad to be. If you are on a budget, you may not have a choice as to the size of the ad. If money is not an issue, you’ll still want to take into consideration what is too big and what is too small. Obviously, you want your local advertising online to stand out from the rest of the competition. But how much is too much?
One of the most difficult decisions behind creating your banner ad is whether you want to focus on text or graphics. You probably do not want to go with just graphics or just text as a combination of the two is best. But there is nothing wrong with focusing more on one or the other.
